David Scherler
Pastor of Blended Worship
David Scherler has served as the Blended Worship Pastor at FBCWF since December 2020, bringing with him over 46 years of ministry experience in churches across Oklahoma and Texas. Raised on a cattle ranch and wheat farm in Walters, Oklahoma, David was called to ministry in high school during Falls Creek Youth Camp and began serving his first church at age 19. He holds a B.A. in Vocal Performance from Cameron University and a Master’s of Music in Vocal Performance from Texas A&M–Commerce. One of his favorite passages is from 2 Chronicles 5, where worship leads to the overwhelming presence of God—a vision that continues to shape his prayer for corporate worship. David has been married to his partner in ministry, Kathy, since 1979. Kathy holds a Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of North Texas, and together they have two sons, Kent and Kale, both professional musicians who also work in IT, and three grandchildren: Anna Claire, David, and Logan. Outside of ministry, David enjoys riding motorcycles, traveling, watching sports, and attending concerts. One of his favorite adventures was a solo motorcycle trip across the American Southwest and West Coast. What he loves most about FBCWF is the joy of serving alongside a gifted pastor, a dedicated staff, and a truly wonderful church family.
