Sam Powers

Middle School Pastor

Sam Powers serves as the Middle School Pastor at FBCWF and has been on staff since early 2023. He first felt called to ministry at age 14 after coming to Christ, but a difficult church split caused him to step away from that path. In 2010, following a football injury that led him to a private Christian college, Sam resurrendered to God’s call on his life for vocational ministry. He studied Christian Education with a minor in Youth Ministry at Howard Payne University. One of his favorite passages is the crossing of the Red Sea, particularly Exodus 14:14: “The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” Sam married his high school sweetheart, Jessica, in 2012. Together they have three children—Cohlson (born 2018), Charli (2021), and Audrey (2024). Outside of ministry, Sam enjoys hiking, woodworking, board games, and soaking up time with his kids—even in the midst of tea parties and diaper changes. What he loves most about serving at FBCWF is how deeply the church family loves and cares for his own.
