Gary Ohmstede

Kids Pastor

Gary Ohmstede has served at FBCWF since 2014 and currently leads as Kids Pastor. Though he came to know Christ at age 17, it wasn’t until age 20 that Gary felt a clear call to ministry—a call he wrestled with while pursuing his own path and serving bi-vocationally. After the tragic loss of his twin boys, Gary reached a crossroads in both faith and career. In 2014, Pastor Bob affirmed his calling, and Gary stepped into full-time ministry, launching the West Campus as Campus Pastor. After seven years, he transitioned into an operations role for student ministry before stepping into his current role. He studied at Arlington Baptist College and lives by Jeremiah 29:11–13, a passage that shapes his family’s commitment to keep a “yes on the table for the Lord.” Gary and his wife, Angie—married since 2005 after a lifelong friendship—are proud parents of six amazing children: Cross, Crue, Cannon, Coyt, Ruby Claire, and Andi Rose. Outside of ministry, Gary loves spending time with his family. What he treasures most about serving at FBCWF is the people—and the front row seat to eternal life change in families.
