At First Baptist, we love and appreciate the US military personnel. Sheppard Air Force Base, located here in Wichita Falls, represents almost 100,000 people who are either permanently or temporarily stationed here. The Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines utilize the excellent training facilities at Sheppard. (93,000 different people are stationed at SAFB during the calendar year.) Some SAFB personnel are in temporary training and will be in the area for as little as three weeks. Others will be in the Wichita Falls area for months and even years before Uncle Sam sends them to another part of the world. Whether long term or short term, single or married, we want to make sure our military personnel are appreciated, encouraged and strengthened in their faith while serving in the North Texas Area. Our attempt to do this is called “OPERATION HOME BASE”
SHUTTLE SERVICE - Singles/College Ministries will offer Sunday Morning Shuttle Service for Airmen who need a lift to church. Pick up is at approximtely 8:50 am on Sundays from various areas on base including McCullough, White and the “Quad” Dorms. We will take you home after the contemporary service at approximately 12:30pm. To schedule a pick up or for more information call Angela at 723.2764, ext. 238.
Parents Night Out (babies through 6th grade) is scheduled from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. one Friday night a month, September through May. The cost is $2.00 per child or FREE with Military ID. Due to limited space, Parents Night Out is open to First Baptist Church Parent Attendees (and their guests) on a first come first served basis. (If we are at capacity, you will be put on a waiting list and notified should space become available.) Parents should send a sack supper with their child. Remember: Phone reservations are required; space is limited.
