Welcome to First Baptist Church - Wichita Falls, TX

Private Instruction

Private instruction consists of one 30 minute lesson per week (45 or 60 minute lessons for advanced students may be available).

Schedules

The Music Academy of First Baptist Church operates on a school year basis.  Students will be given a schedule of lessons and holidays upon request.

2007 to 2008 Session:
August 27 through May16 (34 weekly lessons)

Summer 2008:  As arranged with instructor.

Registration

A completed registration form and signed policies and procedures statement along with payment (annual registration fee and the first tuition installment) is a prerequisite for participation in the Music Academy program.  No student will be allowed to begin lessons until a registration form, signed policies and procedures statement, and payment has been received in the Music Academy office.  When a student is enrolled, he/she is committing to an entire school year of study.

Priority will be given to returning students to keep consistent lesson dates and times.

          60 minutes          $40.00 per lesson

Payment Options

All lessons are paid in advance. The annual registration fee of $25.00 ($40.00 maximum per family) is due upon enrollment and at the beginning of each subsequent year.

Please choose the payment plan that is most convenient for you.  Payment plans are based on thirty-four 30 minute lessons, starting at the beginning of the school year.  If your student is enrolled in 45 minute lessons or starts during the school year, contact the music office at 940.723.2764 and we will be happy to assist you in determining the amount due based on the payment option you choose.
Plan A
Full payment of $680.00 due in advance at the beginning of the year.  A discount of $25.00 will be given if the full payment option is chosen and payment is received before the first lesson.

Plan B
First 1/2 payment of $340.00 is due before lessons start.  Second 1/2 payment of $340.00 is due January 1st.

Plan C
Total tuition of $680.00 divided into 4 quarterly payments of $170.00.  First installment is due before lessons start.  Second installment is due November 1st.  Third installment is due January 1st. Fourth installment is due March 1st.

Plan D
Total tuition of $680.00 divided into 8 equal monthly installments of $85.00.  The first installment is due before lessons start.  Second installment is due October 1st with the remaining installments due the 1st of each subsequent month and the final installment due on April 1st.  The monthly rate is for the convenience of the parents and is not related to the number of lessons in a particular month.

Bills are not sent out.  A monthly email reminder is sent to all who furnish an email address.

Failure to remit payments by the 5th of each month will result in a $10 late fee being added to the account for each occurrence.

Refund Policy

No adjustment of charges or refunds will be made in the case of withdrawal after lessons have begun.  A student should not register for lessons if he/she believes that there may be a reason for withdrawal later in the semester.  Inability to find time for practice, changing of one's mind or unexpected changes in the student's schedule are not acceptable reasons for withdrawal.  Special circumstances such as medical emergencies or a permanent move from the area may be eligible for consideration by the Academy Board of Directors.

Attendance Policy

There are no deductions or refunds for lessons missed by the student.  A maximum of two (2) lessons may be made up for the following reasons:

          Medical Emergency
          Family Emergency
Notifying the Academy office at least six hours in advance

There are no make up lessons for group lessons or music classes.

Regular lesson attendance is expected of all students.  If it is necessary for a teacher to miss a lesson or a class, students will be notified as far in advance as possible.  Lessons will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time.  In case of inclement weather, the Music Academy follows the WFISD policy for starting late or closing.  Lessons will be made up if the Music Academy is closed.

Personal Preparation

All students are encouraged to practice as much as possible.  This is very important.  A little practice every day is better than practicing an hour one day and nothing for several days.

Dress Code

We require all students to dress neatly and modestly for their lessons.  Special dress codes may be required for recitals, worship service and/or special performances.

Holidays

There will be no lessons during the following weeks:

          Thanksgiving Week
          Christmas Week
          New Years Week
          Spring Break (WFISD)
