Worship Orchestra
The Worship Orchestra is a vital part of our worship experience, joining with the Choir and Praise Team each Sunday to lead in celebration and worship. They also present instrumental concerts at other times during the year, including: Summer in the Park, North Texas Band and Orchestra festival, and Sounds of the Season.
Prospective members should be proficient on their instrument, will be auditioned and approved by the director, and should attend three consecutive rehearsals before playing for a worship service. The orchestra rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the Worship Center.
Instrumental Ensembles
Various instrumental ensembles play for special occasions and worship services (by audition only). These groups are open to members of the Worship Orchestra or Youth Orchestra.
Praise Bands
Ongoing Praise Bands perform in our weekly worship services, both in the blended worship and in the contemporary worship service (by audition only).
Handbell Choirs
Handbell ringers are needed for special occasions, especially at Christmas and other seasonal events.
Private Instruction
Private lessons for adults, youth, and children are available through The Music Academy.
Student Orchestra
The First Baptist Church Student Orchestra is open to students in grades 7 through 12 who play either a band or orchestral instrument. For further information, please go to the Youth Music site (click on the link below).
