The First Baptist Church Library provides resources to encourage and equip people of all ages to become obedient and reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ. The library is a memorial/honorarium library which means that most of the books, CDs and DVDs are given by church members or friends of church members as memorials or honorariums.
More than 12,000 books, CDs, and DVDs are available for members and guests to check out. The library has Christian classics, Bible study resources, Christian fiction and current best sellers as well as a large selection of children’s books. The library has Beth Moore Bible studies on videos and DVDs as well as a variety of DVDs for family entertainment. The library’s collection is continually reviewed and updated.
Individuals may check out up to five books at a time and families may check out up to 3 DVDs at a time. The check out period for all resources is three weeks. Late fees are charged on all past due resources and patrons are responsible to replace any resource that has been lost or damaged.
The library is located off the main hallway between the old Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall. A lion statue marks the entrance to the library. All First Baptist members and guests are invited to visit and use the library!

Gifts to the Library
Gifts to the library are welcomed and encouraged. Funds can be given to purchase books, CDs, or DVDs in memory or in honor of a loved one, friend, LIFE group teacher or to celebrate a birthday or other significant event. The librarian will notify the family or honoree of the gift and will then select the appropriate resource for the library. All designated funds are credited through the church financial office. Contributions are always accepted and appreciated.
New or used books, CDs and DVDs may also be donated to the library. They must be in excellent condition and are subject to the approval of the librarian. Donations that are not added to the First Baptist collection will be shared with other church libraries or ministries.

“Reading can never die out among Christians. This is because the whole Christian revelation centers around a Book. God chose to reveal himself to us in the most personal way through His Word—the Bible. The word Bible is simply the Greek word for ‘the Book.’ Indeed the Bible is the primal Book, the most ancient of all literary texts and the source of all literacy. Reading the Bible tends to lead to reading other books, and thus to some important habits of the mind.”
