Welcome to First Baptist Church - Wichita Falls, TX

Women's Ministry

The purpose of the Women's Ministries is to reach women with the gospel of Jesus Christ, meet the special needs of women and help women grow to maturity in Christ through attending Bible studies and participating in special events at the church.

Bible Studies are offered throughout the year both in the daytime at the church and in the evening at members' homes.  New studies begin in the September and January.  Groups meet on Sunday afternoon, Tuesday morning, and Tuesday evening.  A summer mini-session is held in July.  Childcare for ages infant to 5 years and homeschool supervision is available for the women's Tuesday morning Bible studies at no charge.  Reserve childcare or homeschool supervision when you register for Bible study. (See below for schedules.)

Sunday morning L.I.F.E. groups offer Bible study, discipleship and establish relationships with the Lord and with each other through the Word.  We offer various couples and women-only groups.

Encouragement for Mothers Who Teach

The First Baptist Church Library is a place of encouragement for mothers who teach their children at home. The library has one of the best collections of resources for homeschooling parents in this area. Nancy Uriniak, church librarian, is an experienced homeschool mom and is happy to answer your questions and direct you to the right resource for your need. The children’s collection has a wonderful selection of “living books” for the homeschooled child, many of which are recommended in some of the best homeschooling curriculum guides such as Five in a Row, Sonlight, TruthQuest and My Father’s World. All homeschooling families in this area are invited to use the First Baptist Church Library. Please come by the library and check us out!

“One of the highest of human duties is the duty of encouragement. It is easy to laugh at men’s ideas, it is easy to pour cold water on their enthusiasm; it is easy to discourage others. The world is full of discouragers. We have a Christian duty to encourage one another. Many a time a word of praise or thanks or appreciation or cheer has kept a man on his feet. Blessed is the man who speaks such a word.” William Barclay

“Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in the Lord.” Psalm 31:24

For more information call Nancy Uriniak at 940.723.2764 ext. 264 or email her at nuriniak@fbcwf.org

Summer Reading Club for Moms!

Don't let your children have all the fun!  When you sign your children up for the Summer Reading Club pick up a reading log for yourself.  Take a book with you to the baseball field, doctor's office, park or swimming pool.  When your children see you reading, they'll want to read, too.  It's great exercise for your mind.  And moms get prizes too!

The FBC library has great fiction, chick lit, inspiring biographies and wonderful "how to" books on Christian living, parenting, decorating, etc.  Come by the library and check us out!
